Ok, I'm tight on space. My dh has taken the sewing area over with his Janome MB4
. I'm sure this is a good time to "squeeze" in a request for a table for my new 19606.
I really like the idea of the Sauder Craft Armoire here.

I like that it can still fit in the sewing area with the MB4.

I have had this armoire for several years and like it very much. I have my sewing machine on it and the shelves hold a lot of stuff. When we have guests (it is in the guest room) I can push the table in and close the doors-easy!

So, how would you rate the quality of the construction? Is it pretty solid and durable? How about wood chipping or splitting.

checked out the reviews sound like it is a pretty good product for the price. I think you should get it.

I've seen this at the Sauder store (yes, there is one...) and it was unbelievably sturdy. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the table was too short for me (I'm tall and I like my tables over 31" if I can get them). But there was a lot of space in it, and had it not been for the height problem, as well as a design problem with my sewing room, I would have bought it.

I have Sauder office furniture in my sewing room/home office and it is very sturdy....but it takes a while to put together yourself. Don't get confused about this this stuff, there is no wood involved -- it is all made of engineered wood (particle board) with laminate finish. My stuff has been in service about 4 years and is holding up fine and looks great.

Thanks everyone. I showed it to my dh and he was not in agreement with the purchase. He thinks I should get into the "sewing" FIRST before taking the plunge.
