Hello everybody,

i come from germany and at the moment i am writing my diploma thesis. For that i need to know if there a sewing magazines only for plus sizes in the USA? I know the "burda plus fashion", but are there something else? A lot of plus size patterns you can order from a lot of internet pages.
But are there special sewing magazines????

First, good luck on your thesis!
Burda Plus is the only one specifically for plus sizes that I know of. Threads and Sew News both have gotten much better about including plus size information in recent years. This is a great idea but one that may not come to fruition in this economy.

Most of the styles in Ottobre Woman go up to plus sizes. It's available by subscription in the US or from websites like Sewzannes.com.

Patrones publishes a Grande version annually, but it very difficult to get in the US.

Sewing magazines or pattern magazines? They don't have pattern magazines like we do in Europe, but there are some magazines about garment sewing published in the US. I've never heard of any of them being geared exclusively towards plus-sized sewing, though. And I'm sure I would know if there were any.

Sewing magazine or pattern magazine, never mind!
The main thing is that the magazine is a magazine only for plus sizes. But if there are no magazine, it is ok!
I just want to play it safe.
Thank you all for the responses!

Charlotte03,

La Mia Boutique (italian) has a plus sized version, also a couple of german mags have plus versions beside Burda, Sabrina Woman big size, Lea modetrends fur grosse Grossen also there's Knipmode from Holland that has a specific Plus sized mag issued a couple? times per year, Patrones has intergrated Tallas Grandes to the normal Patrones.

There aren't any. I don't even think there is much in the way of plus sized fashion magazines, except maybe BBW if that's still around...not sure, would have to google it. (There is an online BBW magazine, beware the porn if you just type in BBW)

Have not heard of any USA published plus size sewing magazines. Fashion Magazines we have Figure Magazine. Don't know of any others still in publication.
