I have just made my first purchase of Wooly Nylon, initially to mend a pair of DDs Jammies.

I have a 4 thread basic serger.

Are there any special techniques or tension settings I should know about?

Help much appreciated.

You may have to reduce the tension in the loopers. The elasticity of the thread produces its own tension, so to speak. Experiment before sewing on the jammies.

I agree with Elaray...practice first and you may need to adjust stitch length also, depending on the density of stitch you want....I assume this is for an edge?

Are there any recommendations for a nice brand of Wooly Nylon? I just learned that YLI has some. I will be making some sports bras in the near future and one of the comments on a pattern review was to use wooly nylon in the looper so that it would be less itchy.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I've used YLI quite a bit and liked it.

Superior Threads Poly Yarn. It is Soft, soft, soft on the skin. I use it for baby blankets. It is colorfast and can be ironed. Great stuff and beautiful colors.

Oh, I LOVE Superior Threads cotton thread, I don't know why I didn't think of them. I'll check that out right now.

Thanks for your suggestions.
