Dear Bra manufacturers:
This is what I want.
Smooth cups.
Support for large cups!! No stretchy fabrics.
3 hooks in back
Straps close together in the back so they don't fall off my shoulders.
Smaller band sizes with larger cups.
Larger cups with less wire between breasts. I don't want the bra covering my entire chest.
Design the bra so that the band size can be reduced easily. For all those curvy sections in the side and back -- give me a place where I can take it in.

And I don't want a wider underwire for large cups, I want more fabric out front.

I actually do need a wider underwire. I've gone down a cup size and the underwire on my two new Warner's are too narrow and give a little indent under the arm. They don't show and don't bind, so they are fine, but I still don't like them.
Definitely like more adjustability on the straps. I've had a few favourtie bras for looks over the years that didn't get worn as much as I'd like because they always slipped off my shoulders.

First my bra size:
40DDD or 105F
Please why is that in europe they can make and sell beautiful bras that fit me with lovely matching panties and here in Canada the same bras cost $200 plus, if I can find them at all.
I do not care about smooth cups, give me colour, give me lace. I may be obese but I still want pretty clothes.
But I am taking command. I am taking a bra workshop in October, DH bought me 4 kits from Amsterdam, and I am ordering Beverly J's book. Before cutting the beautiful fabrics from Amsterdam, I will do some trial bras and see what I come up with.

I have given up trying to find a RTW bra that will fit -- this after going to 3 different bra boutiques and "wasting" a total of about 6 hours only to be told that the only way I was going to get a bra that fits properly is to buy a $170 - $200 bra and then alter it myself. According to them I am a 40 or 42 and need either a G or H cup with less cup on the top half (?).
I have tons of scraps of beautiful lace and suitable fabrics so I too am going to pick up Beverly J's book and some supplies (underwires, elastics, casings, etc.) and I am going to experiment and get myself pretty bras that fit. I'm sure I can get a lot of supplies for $170 - $200.
I had the goal of starting to sew for myself in 2009 and I've modified that goal to be developing bra and panties patterns that work for my body as it is right now. I too want pretty clothes and I want some colour.
I figure once I get the proper fitting bra I can work on developing tops that fit.

If I were to wear bras the manufacturers would first need to realize that grown women can be a size AA and need more width in the band across the chest than a pre-teen.
I don't have experience in buying bras really but I have always admired the sizing and options at
Title Nine. Their main focus is bras for sports but some of their options seem to have the features that you are wishing for.

Ditto having the straps being closer together in the back to prevent them from falling off the shoulder. The fact that they are widely spaced iin back is the single factor that convinces me that men rather than women develop the schematics for bras. If the developers experienced the problem first hand they'd summarily deal with it....

All I want is for my bras is to push them in and up. Oh, and be comfortable while doing that.

machine washable
no underwire
great support
made from natural materials like cotton or silk
bright colours
I'd also love a sports bra for A cups which offers sufficient support for high impact sports. For some reason all you get for small cups is way too soft.

I agree with you Sewliz-most of my bras come from the "teen" department which can be less than optimal. Of course my DH says "why do you wear a bra anyway it's not like you need it?"
