Nothing iffy in it to me. She has very good suggestions for laying out and cutting fabrics. I believe the scissors can be another brand, but the microserrations are important to prevent stretch as you cut.

You might want to take the Sarah Velben class here on PR it was worth every cent.

What particularly troubled you about the video?

Isn't it Emma Seabrooke? She's well known for her knowledge of sewing with knits so I'd say she's pretty trustworthy. She also sells very nice quality knits.

Sewbluetiful, you'd better not let my DH get within 10 miles of you ~ you've just made it so his dinners aren't made, the house isn't clean and he has to go to work nekkid. o_O

IOW, that's one awesome site!!! Thank you SEW much for the link (though, again, I don't think DH will thank you!! There's WAY too much to see there!!!!)!!

Whoops! The next Sewing with Nancy segment is loaded up ~ gotta go! ;)

DH and the kiddos can live off Ritz crackers and peanut butter, can't they? ;)

Well, I guess I have never heard that you are supposed to put patterns on knit goint one way,, unless there is a nap to it,, I always just put the pattern on the material however it fit,, it this wrong?

Next, her explantion of the her of the top,,, she said she used seam tape I believe, then hemed the bottom,, she said sewing the hem was a mistake cause the fabric wouldn't "go back", it stays wavy,,,I have used tape on hems before, and coverstitched them,, they did fine,,

Thanx for the website! Hadn't heard of it before and it's great!

In general, all pattern pieces, even in wovens should be going the same way. Or did I misunderstand you?

SewVeryCreative..give them an orange with the peanut butter and crackers..that way they will have all nutritional requirements and you(we) can watch TV full time without worry.

Thanks for the link to the website.

Yes, I've only heard/read that knits should be cut directionally.

Hi,
While many kints can be cut in either direction for hanging correctly, because of the loops in the fabric the light is often reflected differently. If you have two adjacent pieces cut in opposite directions they may appear different colors or shades.

I use seam tape on most of my knits in order to avoid the wave at bottom and sleeve hems.

Thanks for this site! I'll be busy watching for a while.
