I never really understood what Buzz Tools does and why I would want it.
If you have it, tell me what you like.
Thanks,
Sally

Well depends on what module you buy. It can resize, edit, designs. Convert them, catalog them. Embird does the same thing a lot cheaper and in one package.

Ditto Sewwolf. I have Embird and had Buzz tools because I thought I needed it. As it turned out I did everything with Embird and didn't need it at all.

I think a lot of people felt safe with buzztools you actually get the software and don't have to deal with activation codes. Also Embird I believe comes from Cech Republic or somewhere similiar. That makes people nervous. Also it doesn't look like your regular windows program. When I got started in this I downloaded a trial for Buzztools. I liked the way it looked and like how it catalog designs but that wasn't worth the price as you get a lot more with Embird.

Can you change Jpgs into Jef's with Embird?? Does Embird have any Photo Stitch software?

I only have basic Embird, I have tried digitising but it was too much work for me so have not kept that add-on up to date.
By the look of it you can stitch out photographs, here is the link
sfumato
I must stress that I have not ever tried this part of the software so cannot comment on how it works, perhaps another PR member can help you with this.

I have PE- Design Software that came with my Brother. That should be enough right?
Do I really need Embird or Buzz Tools Plus?

No, if you have a fairly recent PE Design (not PE lite or basic) you shouldn't really need much else. I'm not really across PE Design I only just started playing with it but it seems to do most things well. PE lite is very frustrating and limiting I think.

Hi Aslindd-
My Brother is old - an 8500 and the PEDesign Version I have is 3.0. Not new. Haven't used it for awhile so need to refresh but it seems to me that I could resize and edit or digitize my own designs.

Then your probably better off refreshing on what you have without going for any more money. If you find the pe design 3 limiting or you want a different function then I guess you compare the cost of upgrading the PE design to a later version versus buying something like embird, and weigh that against working in a program you already know.
With software I think working in something you are familar with is better than maybe buying a newer program and having a steep learning curve just makes everything frustrating.
You can download free trials of some programs, that may be a good way to go before deciding. but I would refamiliarize myself with what I already have first.
