Anyone know much about the basic pants and top pattern from fitnicesystem.com? I have several fit issues and wanted to get back to sew some wovens and knits for myself--the 2 patterns have lots of variations and owner Judy is quite helpful--anyone tried either of these patterns or is thinking about it? I am a apple shaped baBY Boomer, with gravity issues!! thanks very much--Jacki

I haven't tried them yet, but they look very interesting I saw her at a sewing expo and she really seems nice as well as helpful. The presentation she gave made it look pretty easy. She also gave some great tips on notions.

I met Judy at an expo in November and bought her system. I did not attend her classes. She measured me and my daughter right there so we did not have to worry about measuring wrong. She was wonderful to talk to and was so nice.

I have not had time to try the system yet - what with Christmas and all - but will be getting started this month. Judy said to email or call anytime I get stuck. And I will.

I took a class with her last March at the Atl sewing Expo and was very impressed. I loved the idea of perfecting one basic pattern and then doing so many different things with it. I purchased her whole system (approx. $100) to have the basics and all the variations. I made the basic 'T' as is to see where to start and OMG - so many alterations were going to be required that I did not have the time then to continue with it. I still like the idea of it, just havn't gotten back to it. I think once you get your basic pattern to fit you, everything else will fall into place.....or it is suppose to!

thanks so much to all who responded to my queation==now I'll just need to decide how much measuring my brain and emotions can take--I guess could pay the local pro (who does bridal gowns, etc)ctually get the measurements right==DD/DH are not so dear or darling when I ASK THEM TO DO multiple measurements on me--can"t blame them for not wanting to do this on a 58 year old apple LOL!!

And I am a 50 year old apple. My DH measured me for my Unique patterns and yeah, we had to re-do it a couple of more times.

Anyone know how many measurements are required for this system?

GEAUXTIGERS--I received the top pattern and found the list of measurements quite respectable and doable--compared with another system I used in the past. Measurements are as follows: Bust, waist, shoulder width, tummy, hip, arm width, across front, across back, sleeve length, top length. Ease is given depending on fabric choice, style, personal choice. It looks pretty straightforward to me--plus there are variations for different looks within the single first investment top, ie dolman sleeve, neckline variations, etc. Am looking forward to getting a nice fit on this in a knit fabric, then going on to wovens and other variations from fitnicesystem and mix/matching with other features included in patterns I already have. Since Judy sounds very nice and patient, I expect to be very happy with this system and will get pants pattern after I have successfully completed several top variations. Hope this helps--if not, Judy will email/call you back in practically record time, from my experience.

I too would love to read a review by someone who has used this system. It would be so helpful for those of us with fitting woes!
