Well, as many of you know, I'm practically addicted to Ebay. So, the other day I'm checking out fabric and come across this lovely piece:

French rayon

Apparently, I was the only person interested and won the auction for $2.95 for four metres of fabric.  The fabric arrived today and is fan-tastic!  I intend to make myself a drop-dead-gorgeous shirt out of it.   Anyway, I am feeling pretty bad because I practically stole this piece of fabric!  I am considering sending more money to the seller.  What do you think?  Has anyone ever done that?

I wouldn't feel guilty, if it was worth that much to the seller, they would have had a reserve on it.

With eBay, the price, rather then the beauty is in the eye of the beholder, err, I mean the buyer !!

heck no ! Gigi,
If you look at her feedback (which is very good) and then look at the prices on some of the items she has sold already, she is what i call a great ebayer to buy from. She doesnt start out her bids at a high price and doesnt charge or over charge on the shipping. I would love to buy from her. you just got yourself a very very good deal. congrats. just keep her in mind when looking to buy again.

Maybe she was cleaning out her closet and you did her a favor.

Consider yourself lucky!  No need to take responsibility for her.  She's an experienced eBayer, and she could have started the bidding higher.  But you're doing her a favor by letting us know all about her! ;)

Gigi,

Take the fabric and run. Also consider that sending the seller more money may appear to be feedback extortion or some other kind of payoff, even though that's not your intention. Leave good feedback and send a personal thank you to the seller. Just my 2 cents.

Love the new avatar -- did you cut your hair short, or is it just pulled back? I can't tell.

Gigi, could you write to the seller and tell her that you are thrilled with the goods you bought, but feel a tad guilty about the great buy, and let her know that you are making a donation in both your names to (fill in the blank - maybe the Humane Society in your area? )   Then give her positive feedback.  Everybody wins.

gigi,

i've paid extra once.  i bought $350's worth of christine jonson for a little over $100 and the about $15 extra for shipping.  turned out shipping was a lot more, and she threw in over $100 of independent designer patterns.

i just needed to do something to show my pleasure besides a positive review, so i paid the difference on the shipping.

do you know how much the fabric is worth?
