I got a new babylock ellure plus that ran fine for a few mths now it is having a recurrent problem of tangling the bobbin thread again and again.ALso when I use the thread cutter it tangles up the thread underneath the plate really bad.I took it to the BL dealer and they charged me $50 for replacing the bobbin, machine ran fine for a an hr ,then the same problem.again...

I am so disappointed in this ! I thought I would be free of trouble with a babylock. Now I know the dealer is going to come up with a fix 'not covered" and I will end up shelling out money again.

Anybody has an idea what is wrong with it??

I know BabyLocks can be very picky about having the bobbin area clean. That does not seem right to be charged $50 to replace a bobbin, or was it the bobbin case. At any rate, the whole area around it needs to be whistle clean or problems can arise.

I'm sorry I can't help you with your Ellure Plus, but why is your dealer charging you to fix your machine? Is it out of warranty? I've had a lot of trouble with my Babylock Quest plus and I am returning it to the dealer and asking for a refund(dealer still hasn't bothered to call me back about it, so I decided I'll just take it in this week). My QP won't stay in the needle down position and it eats my fabric. I thought the Babylock would be a good machine too, but I now see where I was wrong. It's been to the dealer twice and repair shop once. Make sure the dealer pays for any repairs if it's under warranty, and if they balk about it, I would call Babylock and tell them about how they are treating you. Good luck.

That Quest Plus is made by another factory for BabyLock, which is why the Gold Standard warranty is not offered on it. I suggest you try a "real" BabyLock, like the Quilter's Choice. I have the Brother QC-1000, which is the BabyLock Espire twin and it is such a nice machine. Don't give up on them yet!

It's a Brother made machine, virtually never saw these in for repair when I worked for the Pfaff/Brother/BL dealer. Gold standard warranty or not a machine just a few months old should be covered by a "bumper to bumper" type warranty unless there's a break due to misuse. Gold standard warranty (which still shouldn't be necessary for a few months old machine, it's an "upgrade") is offered on the Ellure Plus models, it's not an Ellure Plus?

I've had an Ellure Plus for 2 years now and I love mine! Sorry you're having problems with yours. That being said they can be persnickety.

Make sure your bobbin area is clean, clean clean! Mine hates dust and will give me problem stitches if I don't clean it often. This includes removing the cover over the bobbin area and the bobbin case and cleaning out the entire area really well. The few times I've had thread nests I found the bobbin area was dusty or a teeny tiny piece of thread was down there.

What speed are you winding your bobbins on? My dealer suggested no more that medium to get a well wound bobbin.

Other than that all I can think some of the obvious like bobbin inserted correctly-counterclock wise-and pulled through the tension correctly. Once or twice I've missed mine and you can hear the bobbin jump around as soon as you start to sew.

HTH

..........and sometimes it is just the brand of thread you are using. Try a different brand and see if it still does it. My Viking Platinum hated Gutermann thread and loved CC poly/cotton, go figure. Machines are like us, quirky.

Get your 50 bucks back. It should have been covered by your warranty since it's just a few months old.

Ask them to replace the blade that cuts your threads. When my Quilter's Choice started jamming up after using the thread cutter button (auto-programmed or just pressing it each time) just cleaning out the bobbin area wasn't good enough. I found that I was tugging and pulling after every time the threads jammed and because of all that pulling the blade got dull. After they installed a new blade everything worked as good as new. HTH!

The $50 was for replacing the bobbin case.It is working now though.I rethreaded it several times and it worked.

Is the bobbin case under warranty? They told me it is not :(
