PR meetup of four! (Moderated by Deepika)
Posted on: 6/26/10 5:37 PM ET
Four of us PR folks met at the Vermont Quilt Festival. Three of us live here int he area and we were so pleased to meet Warbler, who came up from Southern Vermont - we met without a prearranged plan except that two of us here would be wearing our PR pins and carrying our PR totes, and gosh - Warbler spotted us!
It was MOST fun, and we of course topped off the visit with a late and delicious lunch out. SO fun to meet fellow PR members!

No, and I am jealous. It doesn't even look HOT in your pic. I looked at your picture several times yesterday,, and thought a good time must have been had by all. Hard to find the time to have a really good day anymore.

:) pigling - you would have loved to see the sewing machines - I love to watch those big long arm machines in action with the computer programmed quilting patterns and the handles they need - like a exercise machine handles - to place the machine on the quilt - never do I tire of watching that...my respect for quilters gets more and more every year. But of course there was the Janome booth which is always large and roomy - so you can see the machines. They had the 6600, a few embroidery machines, and the 2010, and a few other machines at the lower end and mid range, and then the 7700, which was surrounded at all times. It looks like a terrific machine, but oddly I didn't drool over it. More than I would ever need, and so HUGE. Larger than the 6600, and that's too large for me. I used to think my platinum was large.
Since this is the only Sewing/Quilting expo I have ever attended I am always amazed. I would love to do the Puyallup show but will probably never go due to time constraints.

I am jealous, I want one of those pins.
So glad you had a good time.
I am thinking of going to the expo in Minniapolis this fall. I havn't been to an expo in years.

I was there - I had a quilt in the show. I haven't been in many years, so this was the first time I've been to the Expo center.
It seemed to be very well attended - lots of vendors and beautiful quilts. What more could you ask for???

What does your quilt look like? I took many pictures there - even one I wasn't supposed to and found out after - and I would love to know what yours was like - I admire the quilters so much. It is an art form, and some of them just left me breathless. I am not exaggerating.

Ada - Pins - they are cheap enough and are sold here under Pattern and more! I LOVE the totes too - they hold a ton of stuff and fold down to so small you can carry one anywhere!

It's name is "Kaaterskill." It's handpieced and hand quilted, done in red, purple, yellow and green. It also had a purple ribbon for "Exceptional Merit," which totally thrilled me. :)

Oh congratulations! That is wonderful....what is the pattern or style? Do you have a picture you can post? Would love to see it - I will also look through my pictures - I sort of took them at random of what appealed as I walked through - I know I missed many lovely things - even missed seeing some! I tried to get a representation of modern, traditional, art deco, etc. :)
