A Time to support our family and friends with breast cancer (Moderated by Deepika, EleanorSews)
Posted on: 12/7/10 7:20 PM ET
I just read that Elizabeth Edwards died. I feel so sad. She seemed like such a great lady, who always acted with such courage and grace.
But now I am also very worried about how the news will affect my DIL, who has stage 3 breast cancer. She's half way through chemo, and then will have surgery. She was devastated at first (well, we all were; it was stage 3) but has climbed back, with the help of a very good doctor who assures her again and again that her chances are very good to survive this.
It's so hard. I guess this note is just a heads up for those of us loving breast cancer patients and survivors to be especially mindful now. We know Elizabeth Edwards must have had the best medical care. She was such a symbol of a fighter . . .
Peace,
Mary

I was touched by this news. I hope her death will encourage others not to wait if they find a lump.

To paraphrase a quote from the movie Braveheart, "Every[one] dies, not every[one] truly lives."
My impression from publicly relayed info is that Elizabeth Edwards truly lived. I suspect her story and spirit will continue to live on ... a fitting legacy.

I don't really make mistakes ... I create "learning opportunities"! Murphy says: The better you match the thread to the fabric, the more likely you will need to rip some stitches out! I spend more quality time with my seamripper than I like ...
Yes, I DO love fabric!!

Passion and practicality, humor and rage, intelligence and regrets. She packed more living into 61 years than others do into 90, and I thank her for giving us a glimpse of her presence.

Where are we going, and what am I doing in this handbasket?
Matthew 25:40 (New International Version)
The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

R.I.P. dear Elizabeth Edwards. So brave right until the end. May her memory be Eternal +
I too have family members with & who have had breast cancer. It is scary to say the least. They all need support & much TLC during the struggle & long road ahead. I hope your DIL does well with her treatment & upcoming care. God Bless.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to god. And
