Choose five colors, and be spesific about the shade... (Moderated by Sharon1952)

now I'm getting to feel really foolish, please tell me so if this sounds ridicoulus, but which colors and in what fabric would you use if there's only five in piece to go along with?
Mine are Chocolate brown wool crepe and silkcharmeuse with lycra in same color, tomato red med. weight linen, black woolsatin with lycra, vanilla white viscoselycra in knit, I'd probaly need a coating fabric too, so maybe I'll switch the black wool satin in to black cashemire. Now what are your preferences?
I'd really go like the smiley if those would be all to work with. Marita

I'll play! Mmm, I like your colors. I would have the silk in tomato red and the linnen in a dark indigo blue, perhaps. I think another viscose-lycra knit in dark eggplant color instead of the black wool. But what about greens? And prints?

oh my,
good point Vibek, what shall we do without them, I'd be definetly "lost". Shall we say, two prints: one in knit and one in wovens, I'm so in love with floral prints (not Marimekko kinds though), not too keen on stripes, exept pinstripe ( which has to be weaved in, not print kind for me , thank you), some Pucci prints are ok, some ethnics are also great.
Whoops, I almost forgot one pattern that's absolutely feminine, dots in a size of pencil's end. now is there other good ones? fill me in please.
I'd take the florals in woven and dotty one in knit.

Hmm...My best color is a clear aqua blue. It looks better on me than any other color because of my eyes. I always get lots of compliments if I wear that color, but I don't see that many fabrics in that color. Black also looks pretty good on me. I have blue green eyes and very dark brown hair. Black looks good with my dark hair. So, I guess, aqua, black, white.....Red and salmon also look good on me, but red doesn't look good with the aqua. If I was really limited to 5 colors, I would want them to all coordinate. I guess, a print that included aqua and a warm pink would be good. Then I would include the pink. Oh, and a nice light (not pastel) green. I like green.

Mine are teal, navy or a dark rich cobalt blue, baby blue, charcoal grey and eggplant. Now let's see... navy blue in wool or a silk gabardine, eggplant in a nice breathable rayon that's already preshrunk to its maximum (or minimum, I guess it would be!) charcoal grey in sort of a tweedy wool or polar fleece, teal in sueded silk or charmeuse, and baby blue in fine welt corduroy, stretch velvet, polar fleece or cashmere or plain old 5 momme China silk...
My favorite fabrics are batiste (pure cotton), China silk, stretch velvet, polar fleece, silk charmeuse...

Patty, I love that same color - sometimes called cyan - it goes with my eyes, too. I always pick it out when I see it, but it's hard to find anything to coordinate with it. I usually end up wearing it with cream or black or paper bag tan, but if I'm feeling bold, it also goes with fuschia or deep plum or teal, which also bring out my eye color.
I'd probably choose the clear aqua in silk charmeuse, cream colored linen, plum in a soft wool with some texture, teal in a soft knit, and mauve (light purple/pink) in a light cotton.
