Oh no. I have a pattern coming from Petite Plus with the missing pattern pieces. I am making my dress for son's wedding June 11th.

I'm holding off on shipping anything out or ordering anything that needs to be shipped by mail until a decision is made. From what I just saw on Canada AM it doesn't look good and the postal workers could be walking out Thursday at midnight.

No disrespect intended if anyone is a postal worker, but their starting wage is $10 an hour more than the typical early childhood educator's, so it is hard to be sympathetic. I have been doing my job for 30 years and this summer will be earning under $15 per hour at a union location.

OTOH, I really would love to know more about the stated unsafe working conditions etc. that are mentioned in the news. If it is really unsafe, I think the public should pay to make it better, but if it is things like RSI's, a little bit of training and a good dose of taking personal responsibility is needed. I don't want to pay for 25 years of a person's disability (and I am not saying this is not a real thing!) for carpal tunnel if they could have done a little physio and a little stretching daily to prevent it.

And let me just add once again, I do not disrespect postal workers, people with carpal tunnel syndrome, anyone on disability who has a real and unfixable disability etc.

My sister in law works in the special delivery tracking , of Can Post and she will have no qualms about crossing the picket line.

I only have one package that I am waiting on. My fingers are crossed that it arrives before Thurs. I could ask my SIL to check down in the plant for it- often if they see a package with our last name, they will bring it up to her.

I wonder if they have it timed to zing people waiting for their HST rebate cheques next week (for those who get theirs by mail rather than direct deposit). ...I'm not suggesting they're monsters or anything, but often strikes are timed to hurt in some visible way so that fear and anxiety can be used as a bargaining tool.

I'm holding off ordering anything also! I sent a parcel to my Mom in Victoria last week. I can see online that it's sitting in Victoria since Friday. Hope it gets delivered by Thurs.

Surely most things can be delivered by UPS, Purolator, FedEx or something? It's often cheaper and more reliable than Canada Post anyway.

Thank Heavens that i arranged it so my Income tax return and GST rebate go into my direct deposit. In many ways the Postal service is becoming redundant. Many days all that is delivered is flyers that go directly into the garbage. What a waste of man or woman power.
