I'm always the last to figure things out, so I'll just ask, what's with everyone changing their screen names? I was tempted to do so after a local dealer chastised me for talking about some things which were true, but unflattering to the sales person who did them, even though I didn't name or indicate the person, the dealership, or even the city. She must have recognized me by my name and machine model. But I figured that just my list of machines would identify me, and I don't say anything that I wouldn't sign my name to, so I never did change my screen name. So what's up, eh? I get why one would change from their real name, identity theft and whatnot, but why the other changes? It's like Baby Lock changing from model names to ladies' names, but in reverse.

They are all going underground, my suspicion is that they are in the sewing protection program.... perhaps their husbands have sussed them out and there's no place to hide now

I think when initially some members chose their usernames they had not intended or were not posting on the boards.. so they gave little thought to the name they chose.. Or their circumstances have changed.. and the name is no longer appropriate.. such as when Debbie in Dallas moves to Ohio..
And sometimes they just wanted to change all along. and thought this was a good time to do that.
And why not ? If it makes them happier.. Its a lot easier than changing husbands..

PP, please don't ever change. I really like seeing where folks are from, and which machines they have, as it's often relevant to the discussion of machines and prices. When I see the latest post in a thread is from one of my fav posters, I'm quick to click. Otherwise, I let more time pass. Y'all are messing with my PR reading strategy! But I love you still.

Shame on the local dealer; it would have been so much smarter for them to pay attention and make some corrections as needed. Is she participating on PR or sleuthing?
Local dealer, are you out there, shame, shame, shame......and more shame. Your customer's personal life does not belong to you. And, take responsibility to help your employee take a different approach in the future so they don't end up putting you in the position of needing to fire them.
Just like the commercials, what happens on PR, stays on PR.

No kidding! I did change mine because people were so confused by the Geauxtigers reference. Also because as I get more involved locally, there will be times I don't want local people knowing my business that I might feel better posting anonymously online.

I so totally agree with your posting.. Its like being stalked by a dealer.. an invasion of your privacy if you ask me..
The OP should pull here aside and read her the riot act next time she is in the store.. in fact I am not so sure I would not prepare a speech and just deliver it .. other customers or not.. grrrrr.. Yep.. that part of the OPs post made me mad.. Its a shame we have to grovel to our dealers. . it should be the other way around.
We have a couple of dealers here like that. They have no idea how much it has cost them over the years.. as they are the last place I shop.. and one of them is a bernina dealer. . Luckily we have more than one Bernina location here in Dallas. The other two are terrific to deal with.. just my luck the one closest to me had a bad attitude.

Well, I didn't buy my new 820 from that dealer...but honestly, I think the owners often aren't aware of everything their employees say and do. I'm fortunate to have more than one dealer for any brand within an hour or so drive. I think the real test of a dealer is how they resolve a serious problem with a machine, and thankfully, I haven't yet encountered that.
