The local fair has a sewing category entitled "pocketed barbeque apron"

I have meat fabric, somewhat infamous from the Montreal PR Weekend. I know, you were wondering about that.

I backed it with cow fabric. So, for the apron, the steak is on the outside.

The meat fabric bled in the wash. This is getting even better isn't it? Hopefully the mostly rural audience will enjoy the irony.

(styled with BBQ accessories: bandana, beer, iPhone and pliers, you know, for the broken knob on the BBQ)

I wasn't at Montreal (wahh), but that is just too funny!

Great use of the fabric. Hope you win a blue ribbon!

And the meat fabric has resurfaced -- I remember just how many laughs this fabric got at Show N Tell in Montreal.

Be sure to let us know how you do at the fair.

Um, can I ask who originally bought that fabric? It looks like one of those "What was I thinking?" purchases!

I bought it originally, and specifically searched it out.

I had seen the fabric featured on a blog (I'd have to look it up) from someone shopping on St-Hubert in Montreal. Maybe a year later I was in Montreal and looked it up. It was a bit nasty, and had a brushed finish to it. I took a photo and said aha! it still exists. It's definitely fabric used for home decor.

On the Montreal PR weekend, I thought, this time I'm going to buy a chunk, instead of just having yearly visits with it. Somewhat disbelievingly, they had the fabric in a heavy cotton twill. - which means they reprinted it??? !!!! My french is okay, but not that good to get into the details of tissu viande. It was hard to explain that I was buying it as a joke souvenir.

Although I was in Quebec this year, I didn't go visit the fabric bolt since I had some. It could still be there, someone is going to have to have a look. Saratex/Sams Textiles.

Edit: The blog was at Dress A Day

Kittykate,
That apron is just inspired! All that's missing is a box of matches and a can of lighter fluid!
