Interested in forming a sewing group. (Moderated by Pyrose)
Posted on: 9/7/11 8:40 PM ET
Hi all,
This is the first time I've posted here, so excuse any unintentional faux pas. I was wondering if there was anyone located in the Eastern Shore MD/DE who might be interested in forming a 'Stitch & Bitch' group to share and socialize? I'm a pastry chef, semi-intermediate sewer, (bit of) a fabric addict
, mom of 2 dogs. I am in Salisbury, MD and depending on how many people are interested in getting together we could either find a central location for meeting up that would be good for everybody, or we can take turns hosting. As a pastry chef, snacks are guaranteed! And wine or margaritas too!
If you are interested please PM me here if you're able or, contact me at gourmand73 (at) yahoo (dot) com Thanks!

Sounds wonderful (especially the pastry chef bit
) but I bet I'm a little too far to join you (live near Dulles airport).
You might want to take your email out or at least make it less obvious. For example spell out the words "at" and "dot." I don't want random internet weirdos getting your email address too easily. You can ask PR people PM you. If they are Friends of PR (the paid membership) they can PM you.

Hi JEF,
Thanks for the advice!
I used to live in Chantilly! Dang it! Just missed you by a few years. Too bad for me
Anyhoo, are you going to the sewing expo later this month? If I can finagle going... I might see you there.
Cheers,
Ed

Oh yeah! I'm going. I love it!
Over in Sewing Events and Conferences there is a thread about it and several of us have listed the classes we'll be in. As we get closer, maybe we can find a lunch spot?

Hi JEF,
Yeah definitely we should meet up for lunch or something! I'm looking now to see if I can go.
Do you have any suggestions on which classes/teachers you would recommend? I was looking at more of the Fit & Construction side, I don't quilt so that's out for me. Also, I tried looking but I couldn't see, is there a Room share topic for the expo?
Thanks!

I really like Peggy Sagers. I'll be honest and say I don't always apply everything she says (too lazy) but she always makes sense to me. Kathy Ruddy is good to listen to as well. Cynthia Guffey is the one if you like lots of pins and staystitching. I don't like those things but I cannot deny that her work is beautiful.
No room share thread as of now but you could always start one or ask on the Sewing Expo thread.

Thanks JEF! You are very generous to share your Bring a friend coupon!
I can to be a bit fussy with my sewing, but that's only because, I don't know the shortcuts, sounds like I should take classes from you
Any chance you're moving to the Eastern Shore area?
