Add your recommended patterns for the stocky body shape (Moderated by Sharon1952)

I was reading a 2007 post titled: "I give up. Loes Hinse Tank Dress". The consensus was the design was good, but was not designed to drape well on, what Karla Kizer labeled, the sturdy peasant shape.
No matter if you get labeled as the Apple, the Pear, or the Banana shape, you can still be a sturdy peasant shape. And, if you are one, you immediately relate to the phrase. There are a lot of us out there.
What design elements do you look for when considering a pattern?
What are some in stock patterns -dress, skirt, top, pant- you have sewn and found to be flattering?

I relate to this type very well.
The most important thing I look at in any garment is bulk.
Bulk in any form is my enemy, either by the design or the fabric.
I have always loved the look of the stright up and down type garments, but know that type of garment will only exaggerate my shape and call attention to the fact that I have no shape.
The goal is to give the appearence of having a shape by using gentle curves. Darts are my friend.
This was true when I wore a size 8 and is still true now that I am a size 18. Size doesn't seem to have anything to do with it.
There is a book about how to figure out your shape and then explains what the best type of clothing will work for that shape. I can not remember the name of it but there is a current thread/post about it. I think the thread/post is called two sticks and a string.
I learned a lot from that book and used what I learned most of my adult life.
