We are having some wonderful stormy weather where I live. The last 2 days have seen gale force winds, which have brought the salty sea spray to damage our veggies and plants. Went down to the harbour today and took a few photos, which i have posted on Flickr, if anyone would like to look. url is in my profile, I haven't got the hang of posting photos direct yet
I am sure others here must experience dreadful stormy weather, but this was just beautiful for us, as it's windy and wet, but not too cold at the moment.

It sounds dramatic and beautiful. I'm glad you're enjoying it.

When you said "winter storms" it spooked me a little bit, lol. I thought someone in our northern/snowy climate was already experiencing blizzards or something. .......Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo........! (I have to drive at night two days a week for the next month or so and will start being on high alert soon...)

I woke up to a surprise fog here the other morning. Not the usual weather for us in Dallas ..
I love storms myself.. love the weather changes of all sorts. as long as I am safely tucked into my home..
You are a brave woman Joan.. not only do I not drive in bad weather.. I never drive at dark.. Making the road a safer place for you..
I can tell by the number of threads about weather here on PR that we all get a bit concerned about the members living in areas of bad weather.. and especially concerned about those who must drive to work in these dangerous elements..

I'd like to do the same for my fellow travellers! Unfortunately this term I commute and some nights I finish teaching at 6:30 p.m., so I'm stuck with driving. So far all I've had to deal with is rain a couple of times, but rain on hilly roads at night isn't great either. However, I'm sitting here listening to a sermon about Psalm 23, so I'm not complaining. And in the winter (our real winter, from most of December on) I won't have any night driving to do.

Here's a little help seaside sewer.

I'm reading my second novel by Susanna Kearsley, I'll let you know if it is good stormy weather reading. I'm just in by a few pages but it seems that she's setting up for ghosts. Very timely to be reading it now, maybe I'll wait until closer to Halloween to get serious about it.

Sounds like a fantastic couple of days. I love weather! And, hubby and I enjoy the coziness of a bit of a storm.

Thanks for the pictures. Does your Flickr posting still have the other photos on it for anyone that missed them this summer?

Beautiful! I would have to at least attempt to walk near the shore while the wind blew.

Skae, THANK YOU SO MUCH
No matter how hard I try, and whose instructions I have followed, I cannot get my pics to post
Thank you all for your kind comments.
Yes, 7yrstitch, my other photos are still up on Flickr, if anyone wishes to see them. I have re-arranged my sewing room, so I can have extra work surface whilst I am quilting those tops I did during the summer. I too have been reading more of Susanna Kearsley, and also Diana Gabaldon, both authors I have been introduced to by PR members.
Invisigal, there is no shore to walk on, only cliff tops, which are a bit too precarious in gale force winds. I live on the very north east coast of Scotland, 40 miles south of John o' Groats, facing the Moray Firth, and the North Sea, so we get a lot of weather here

Skae's computer skills amaze me.. Be sure and catch her pics on the Christmas Countdown thread. I have no idea how she learned to do this either.. I am still trying to pull off quotes.. sigh.

Breathtakin .. beautiful.. and mysterious those pics are. I could see a novel or two based in that location. Not that I have any plans to write anything soon.. but if I lived there I just might be motivated enough to try my hand at it..
Loved looking at your pics..
