I'm going to be doing a coverstitch class using the Brother machine in September. One of the things we need to bring is a pack of needles. Can anyone tell me what type of needles the Brother uses? Are they the same ones as my Janome - EL 705?

I had a brother coverstitch machine it used standard sewing machine needle. Your book should tell you. But that is what I used in mine.

Same answer here, the Brothers uses regular sewing machine needles. One of the reasons why I choose this over other cover stitch machines.

Brother uses a regular sewing machine needle, but I have ball point needles in mine.

that will work. ballpoint, stretch needle, even the sharp. It just depends on what your sewing. I like to use the size 12 needles in
mine when i had it. I used stretch needle when sewing knits.

Alison, the Brother uses standard sewing needles, so different than your Janome. The same needles as most sewing machines use. The needles I use most on my Brother are #80 and #90 ball point.

Hi Alison,
I would pack both 80's and 90's, sometimes my Brother likes a 90 for bulky stuff.
Cheers
