Out of the box use, do you think it might work? (Moderated by Sharon1952)

I have been intrigued by the CriCut. Once I saw blackboard pantry labels on a design show, I've been drooling. But today, I had an eureka moment.
Some of you know that I am a fan of Kinesio Tape for keeping one of my knees taped together and functioning. What a find, braces didn't work for me and doubling up on ace bandages was tedious and uncomfortable - but still great since it did work.
Kinesio Tape has been life changing for me. Then they came out with precuts....sweet!
The precuts are great, but there is an added expense over the rolls and they are one sized fits all. I still find myself cutting my own custom solution.
So, do you have a Cricut? Do you think it would cut through a thin fabric like material with a very thin amount of adhesive attached to a backing, possibly with an additional layer of painter's tape to hold it in place?
The thickness of the Kinesio Tape would be similar to having a medium weight quilting fabric mounted to paper like contact paper.
Would I be able to design my own cutting pattern? I'm not clear on this after reading the CriCut product page. And, I read something about software called Make the Cut.
Cutting the Kinesio Tape with regular scissors gums the scissors. I've switched to a new titanium coated scissor that works very well.
And, what is the approximate longest cut you can make on a CriCut machine?
Thoughts? Comments?
The Kinesio product cost per inch is significantly less expensive by the roll versus the precuts. Even if I came out even, dollar wise, by using the CriCut, I would still have the advantage of having the product customized to my needs and still saving time.
Thank you.

I have a Cricut Expression, and think it would be a tricky proposition to cut Kinesio Tape. Some people cut fabric on the Cricut, but after fusing it to Steam a Steam, using multiple cuts, and sometimes mentioning dragging across the fabric. Because the Cricut is a plotter style cutter with a single sharp point, I can imagine the cutting point gumming up very quickly if the Kinesio Tape messes up your scissors.
There used to be software that allowed people to create their own designs for the Cricut, but a lawsuit eliminated that option (although some people still have the software). So at present the Cricut does not allow you to create your own designs from scratch. People have to purchase their designs from only Cricut either digitally or on cartridges. Then users can do simple changes to them on a computer or handheld Cricut device called a Gypsy. A user has to "own" the design (by buying it from Cricut) to cut it out on the Cricut.... That's OK with me because I just want to cut stuff out, not design them myself.
There are other cutters out there that will cut whatever design you download or design yourself (e.g. Silhouette). Those cutters have an "open" platform, but they're all plotter style cutters and would probably gum up just the same. Sorry.....

In reply to CVT
Thank you CVT, that is exactly the information that I needed.
Happily, the new Fiskar's titanium coated scissors have made cutting the Kinesio Tape much more efficient.
No need to be sorry, the whole Kinesio Tape process is much faster, more comfortable and works better than anything else I've used over the last 20 years. I'm still a happy camper.
Thanks again.
