If you [email protected] (I think they are the London distibuter for Burda)--they seem to have all kinds of back issues of Burda--they took a few days to answer my request and I found what I wanted on ebay--but they sent me a very nice email with prices and they had all the back issues I asked for--including Burda Petite and Quick and Easy. Shipping is a bit steep, but I think the prices are the regular list prices (in pounds, of course).

Anyway--if glpnews or the your local store is out of something--this is another source.

On the Burda site under News (on the English page), there is an email addy for ordering special issues.
Burda News in English

Maybe an email to this addy will help with purchasing any back issues too. I used this addy to initially enquire about my WOF subscription and received a return email with postage costs etc.
Worth a try

Thanks so much for the info on this site! I live in the UK and - although the glp prices are good - I wanted to be able to get my subscription from a UK distributor just so I would get my magazines more promptly. I've been getting my WOF from Ebay mostly - although I have been lucky and found the odd issue in a local store on occasion.

I am defintely going to subscribe with them to start with my May issue - and luckily the postage is free since I'm already in country.

thanks again!

Tigger, our local W H Smths always has lots of copies. You could order from them and pick up the copy from the shop and save on postage. Or try your local newsagent - mine can get almost any magazine, even Threads from USA and I just pay the UK cover price.

Hi - I'm also in the UK and have had a sub with Interpressnetwork for a couple of years for my Burda mag. This time they messed up my renewal, and the April mag was delayed because of it and then they sent me two copies! If anyone in the UK would like one, let me know - I would happily send it to the US but as we poor Brits are so badly served for fabric, mags etc thought I'd give you first refusal.

Yes I just found InterPressNetwork on the internet yesterday -after reading ccdcar's original post - they look pretty reasonable rates and I'm going to start my subscription with them to start with the May issue.

It's good to see so many UK sewists around - it's always good to get tips from the local area! :)

Yes, Tigger, they're quite good rates and fairly reliable although I've they've messed up twice now with renewals (didn't get my Burda Plus at all this Feb because they didn't clear my credit card in time). However, as I have no access to anywhere locally that sells WOF, I'm OK with them.

Anyway, would you like the April issue? I'll just whack it in the post if you would like it (leave your address as an email to me). Don't want anything for it, just need to try and keep my sewing room a bit tidier (ha! faint hope!). Sue

Thanks Sue!

I've messaged you - and yes I know how funny it is to think about getting a sewing room clean - is it possible I ask myself? :)

Ha! No, in my world 'clean' and 'sewing room' are diametrically opposed. Oh well. I've answered your mail and will get this mag off to you pronto. Nice to meet another UK sewist! Sue
