I have a 200E that I have recently given a proper burial. It had the 730E upgrade. Does anyone know if the embroidery unit from the 200/730 would fit the 640 or 730? Thanks so much for any insight, Kat

I think it might. Why not give a Bernina dealer a call and ask?

As far as I know, they should be compatible.

No, I don't believe it is. The embroidery resides on the machine for my 630 and on my 165 it resides on the embroidery unit. This might not be the case so I would suggest you check with them.

I was told from Bernina the embroidery unti for the auroras and the artistas are the same unit I first owned the aurora 430 with the embroidery unit and then upgrade to the artista 630 and kept the same embroidery uniit. It works great on my 630. my friend even tried it on her 730 and it worked great.

That's the best way to find out if it will. :)

I got the same response from dealers prior to purchasing my 630. Each dealer told me something different. I finally called Bernina directly (800 number) and spoke directly with someone who told me the embroidery modules are the same. It is the software on the machines that differ. I really think the dealers just want to sell us something new even when we don't need it. I'm curious what you find out when you try it on the machine. Good luck!

Well I have a 185 and it uses the same hoops as the current line, the oval ones. My embroidery unit has the slot for the personal design card on the left end. If your 200 has the slot on the embroidery unit it is not the same as the current ones. If your slot for the 200 is on the right side of the machine it may be the modern unit. Probably clear as mud!
