I'm still trying to get mine to work (Moderated by Sharon1952)
Posted on: 7/18/12 1:41 PM ET
Here's the story: I got a Club BMV membership for $9.95 with the Craftsy sale on the sewing courses (I also got the Khalje Couture Dress course).
The problem is that this was on June 30th and I still can't use/open my Club BMV membership despite 3 emails and a FB rant on my part.
Apparently they were on vacation before and/or after the 4th of july or something.
Finally, I was sent a password and told that my Club membership was associated with the email I use for online shopping.
I already have an account at mccallspatterns.com but when I log in, I don't understand how to check my BMV account (if it exists). When I tried using the password they sent, the system told me it was wrong.
All this to ask, what is the usual sequence when one wants to use their BMV membership? Is it a distinct account from the main one that appears at the upper right corner?
Obviously, I emailed them again...twice. I would like to hear about your experience while I wait...Thank you in advance.

The same thing happened to me, I was told that it would take 3 business days for the Club BMV to be activated after payment. It took about a month of emails back and forth with Craftsy to identify the problem. In my case there was a system glitch and Craftsy never transmitted the information to Vogue patterns. Just email the Craftsy website, since they are the ones who collected the money and tell them what's going on. I will say they were responsive.
Good luck.

I was going to say it sounds like a Craftsy issue. I joined BMV in the 90's and have never had any problems with the site.

I had the same problem; I ended up emailing both Craftsy and McCalls'. The email addresses I used were:

[email protected]
I also included my email confirmation of the course and membership purchase. Took about a week.
Good luck!

I'm so sorry you're having trouble and then trouble getting it resolved swiftly. I started my Club BMV membership almost a year ago. It did not involve Craftsy, started without a hitch and I've never had any issues. Maybe there's a glitch getting the right hand to know what the left hand is doing?
Once you get over these hurdles, I think you'll find it worthwhile. Hang in there.

I got my membership through Club BMV and have never had a problem. There must have been a glitch in the Craftsy promotion deal. I never have an issue with my Craftsy account either. I've dealt with customer service at both places and have always had good experiences. Sorry to hear of your problem.

I also obtained my Club BMV membership direct without any problems. It's definitely worthwhile, so hope you can get the issue resolved soon - sounds incredibly frustrating.

Mine started without any problems but it was a direct purchase from BMV.
I live outside of the USA (Canada) so do watch postage - I find it works out well when I am ordering a number of patterns but for one or two the ost of postage outweighs the sale price here in Canada - not sure what the availability is in Haiti
I hope the problem is quickly resolved as it does work well once it's up and going

Thank you all for your input.
It is very frustrating! But I am used to delayed gratification which is the usual MO in this country. *sighs*
I would like to clarify that Craftsy is to be exonerated of the problem. One of the BMV customer service agents confirmed that she "saw" my membership and allegedly changed the email but the password she gave me was not accepted by the system.
Am I asking for too much? In my mind, I would just have the membership tacked onto my existing account. Maybe that's not actually possible, technically?
I wrote again (that's 1 email/day this week so far) and will update you with the hopefully good news. Sursum corda!

Definitely seems to be a problem linking Craftsy with BMV. Again, I purchasd my membership online BMV directly and have never had a problem!
So sorry you're expericing this... hang in there and the discounts definitey add up! :-)
