after using numerous projects or the end of the day???? (Moderated by Deepika, EleanorSews)

My hair dresser used a Chi blow dryer for several years. I thought they were so pricy and the only difference I could see was it was quieter. I was in TJMaxx recently and have been saving my coupons. They had one there (a basic model) so I purchased it and brought it home. Well, let me tell you there is a difference in hair dryers!!!
My hair is very, very, very fine & straight and thinner with age. I use 3-4 products in it to keep it from becoming totally flat. My hair now is fluffy, with body and using only 1 product. The Chi hair dryer is awesome!!!
I highly recommend. No more flat head for me, yeah!

Interesting... is the technology they use different somehow? I, too, have thin straight hair.

You know how hair falls out with the stress of illness or surgery? My hair is so flat that when all those sprouts start coming in they stick up through the flat hair and look like a new little crop of carrot sprouts. Like a chia pet wearing a skimpy wig.
Thanks for the tip, I'll hunt one down.

Thanks for the tip-my hair has thinned a lot with age. It is also finer as I stopped dying it.
I used ground flax seed for awhile on my cereal and I swear it made my hair grow. ????wishful thinking????

I used to have major flat hair "syndrome" in my younger years. Probably because my hair had more oil. It was fine hair, but a lot of fine hair. Stick straight too. Nowadays I avoid the blowdryer because it will make my hair "flat" as opposed to slightly wavy (and "puffier") if I let it air dry. Although my hair is definitely dryer than in my younger years, the upside is that I now have a slight wave and it's not as flat. I just can't see it, however, when I use the blowdryer. Been avoiding it lately for some wave and since doing so my hair doesn't seem as dry as it as. A good thing, but not has soft as my teenage-30 years when hair oil was plentiful.
Double edged sword I guess. Fluffier with wave but dry vs. flat and shiny. Aging. It's so weird.

Is it the hair dryer or some kind of attachment that helps?

How much quieter is it? I am fighting tinnitus and loud blow dryers make my ears hurt.
How expensive is it without coupons?

Currently working on a boys quilt. Sized 40 x 40 inches. It has chickens, chicken eggs, cows, fish, sea life, afield with water, Dachshunds, mini sailboats, and many colorful other fabrics. The blocks are a 4 x 4 finished size, so many of them are needed.
This my 4th quilt in 7 months.
Bernina 630, Bernina embroidery module, Pfaff 2036, Bernina 1200DA serger, Unique Sewing Cabinet 450L

I don't know how much it cost new (can find online) but this was $70 at TJ Maxx, the leopard one. (the only Chi they had, called CHI-tah on the box) I have ringing in my ears also. My old hairdryer was highly recommended when I purchased as being quiet, etc and cost about $40 back in the early 2000's. This one is so much quieter (still some noise) and it seems like it isn't pushing my hair around like the old one. After working all day, it is still "poofy/has fluff" and not flat like it usually is. I am amazed.
I use no attachments, just the hairdryer. It has tourmaline ceramic, anion & infrared (on the box). I used to hold my head down to blow dry it, but not now. Even my very short hair above my neck is standing out from my scalp. I am in love with it.

Interesting.
I have flat hair but only because it is so thick it gets weighted down as the day goes on. Hair styling products usually just make it worse. It would sure help if I could find a hairdresser that is williing to take the time to properly thin and texturize my hair.
Maybe this hair dryer would help someone with my problem. Something else to check out!
