I ordered the fleece for the back a long time ago, and finally emailed the store because I have not received it, and she said she didn't get any notice form Paypal that I had paid. UGGG! I don't know how a deposit into your paypal account could be missed, wether you get a notice that it's there or not! So still waiting for it......

I do not know why I can't take a decent picture to save my life. I guess my hands must shake and I don't even notice it. ALL my pictures seem to be blurry no matter what camera I use!

So I have to apologize once again for terrible picture quality!

I really love what the borders added to this quilt! Especially the solid black:

The monster quilt is so very cute! The black border does look good.

Great borders! The solid black separates the busy prints wonderfully. I love the use of the stripe for a faux-piano-keys border.

This quilt is just adorable.

Thanks everyone!

And Julkane, I will be FMQ it, each block will be quilted individually. I haven't decided what to do about the sashing/borders yet.

I really like the borders. I would not quilt the borders, just do SITD on both sides of the black border.

I agree. The border looks to be 3 inches wide. If she SID'd on each side of the black border, it should be fine. After all, she will be sewing the binding down to hold things in place. I love the piano key look to this quilt. The quilt itself is adorable, due to the cute monsters and the larger blocks. The different sized blocks add variety.

Currently working on a boys quilt. Sized 40 x 40 inches. It has chickens, chicken eggs, cows, fish, sea life, afield with water, Dachshunds, mini sailboats, and many colorful other fabrics. The blocks are a 4 x 4 finished size, so many of them are needed.
This my 4th quilt in 7 months.

Diana and Learn:

I am leaning towards just SITD for the black border and maybe a few simple lines on the monster stripe. The border is actually 5.5" total, black and stripe. I will most likely wrap the fleece back around to the front to bind it, my grandson LOVES the soft edges. That means it won't be stitched through all the layers, only hand sewn to the front and top layer.

If my backing fabric would get here, I would be so happy! I HATE having an unfinished project like this hanging around! I don't want to get started on a new big project because I don't like starting/stopping in the middle of things. It takes a LOT of effort for me to switch mental gears.
