So I bought the binding attachment set for my Horizon a few months ago from someone on SewItsForSale. I have a quilted quilt ready to bind.

Then I went to a quilting retreat in October with great intentions of binding that first quilt of mine... heh heh... But do ya think I got around to doing the binding? Heck no. I had fun doing goofy projects instead and spent the weekend decompressing from my crazy family and didn't want to do anything that required too many brain cells.

Then I moved in November.... and the chunk of fabric I bought for the binding is A.W.O.L. from the move. (That's my best excuse for still not finishing that quilt and I'm sticking to it)

So today (Christmas Day as I write this) I had the whole day to just poop around at home (I did the family thing yesterday... so the kids are at the inlaws today) ... and I made a 18" x 46" simple table runner for this one entry table in my house that badly needs something on top.

Gotta run and pick up my daughter from Greyhound soon... but I *swear* I'm gonna come home and tackle this binding thing.

I've only done a little binding on a few small (VERY SMALL) projects.. and I screw up cutting the spiral every time. I have had good luck with that 1" binding foot... but gonna try the big one tonight.

I'm off to YouTube to get some learnin' in again...

Wish me luck.

Well, did you do it or not?

Currently working on a boys quilt. Sized 40 x 40 inches. It has chickens, chicken eggs, cows, fish, sea life, afield with water, Dachshunds, mini sailboats, and many colorful other fabrics. The blocks are a 4 x 4 finished size, so many of them are needed.
This my 4th quilt in 7 months.

ohhh Good Luck - How did it go? Did you like the binding attachment?

hmm my fav method of binding a quilt (uh the 7 I've done so far LOL) is on You-Tube (LOVE those tut's)... from a sewing company in North or South Dakota - her accent is really cute but it's a good lesson and I watch it every time before I bind.

Hope you got through it!

was it "heirloom creations in Sioux Falls, South Dakota"? I like their videos, too.

I have to confess... I have the same binder for my 6600 and have yet to use it. I think I might start with a simple project but when I comes to bindings I have never been happy with those I do entirely with machine... so I have to challenge myself to tackle the binder. But right now my sewing room is undergoing a complete overhaul... there is not sewing happening there!
