I bought a used Babylock BLCS which was advertised as being used very little and in excellent condition. I received it yesterday and threaded it for the first time this morning. I've read the manual and threaded it very carefully several times. There seems to be a problem with the looper tension knob or disc. The ring that goes around the knob is very loose and "jiggly". The rings around the needle tension knobs are tight. When I set the looper tension at the recommended setting -- around 2 -- there is no tension at all on the thread. Can someone with this machine check their looper knob and tell me if the outer ring (with the cutout that shows the tension number setting) is loose or tight?

Thank you so much for checking this for me! I've taken the machine to a Babylock dealer to get checked out.

My Babylock BLCS looper ring on top of the looper button is loose just like yours and I have it set at 0.5 (between 1 and 0).Works great and mine was bought new.

Thanks for letting me know. That is very reassuring since I just picked my machine up this afternoon from having it checked out by a local Babylock dealer and he said it was fine. Evidently, the fact that the ring on the looper knob is loose doesn't affect the tension and isn't a problem.

So glad it's ok ! Now you can start sewing !You are going to love it but make sure you get the clear foot ,it helps you see how it sews much better than the foot it came with.

The clear foot was included with this machine and I've already removed the metal foot and replaced it with the clear one.

I have been using this machine for the last couple of years, and I LOVE it! It's actually owned by a former client of mine, and they've decided to shut down their business and sell their assets. I CANNOT bring myself to let this machine go! I need to make them an offer, but I can't find a price quote on a used machine ANYWHERE. Would you mind doing me a HUGE favor and sharing what the price on your used machine was? Mine has seen a lot of action, but it's only 2 years old. They paid the full $1300 for it, and I know they'll give me a deal. But I just don't have a clue what the going rate is. THANK YOU!!!--Angie (If anyone else has seen one of these for sale used, I'd love to hear the prices you've seen, too!)

I paid $800 for mine on eBay, which I don't think was too bad. The nearest Babylock dealer sells theirs for $1499.
