Took my Brother duetta 4500s machine in for a cleaning. Quoted time was 1 week. The day before it was scheduled to be done I called and they said that one of the motors was going out (the one that controls stitch width and ZigZags) was going out. Luckily it is still under warranty. Now it has been 3 weeks - and they have not received the replacement part from brother.
How long do warranty repairs usually take????

I had to wait a month to get my machine back 2 years ago.
They only can send in orders for part in quantities now. Before they could order the part they would get it. Its the company.
Hope they get your part soon.

This is the reason why I have a backup machine (or two, or three, or four...)

I am on week 3 without my machine now. I feel your pain. Mine is on a full re-build not waiting on parts (vintage), but I have a feeling it will be longer than the 3 weeks they quoted me.

What I realized when I brought my machine in to the second repair place over an hour and a half from my house is that the sewing machine repair people who know what they are doing are few and far between and are actually busy. There were 2 others that used to be much closer to me that I knew of that have closed shop in the past 10 years and probably more than that between me and the place an hour and half away that I took my machine.
