My sewing room is in the basement, it's a decent size space, but I have TONS of crafting things that I need to either sell off or donate. I have 7 big moving boxes of stuff that I'm not sure I want to hold on to.
I got started getting some things organized in here, it'll be awhile before I have furniture (cutting table, sewing table, etc) but I have 2 of these built in cabinets so storage isn't an issue! I got this one cleaned up and discovered I had a bunch of handy baskets and such to get things stored away neatly.
After realizing my fabric bins could fit...I'm wondering if I should take them back out as they're pretty heavy :/ But I love the LOOK of them in the cabinet! :)

very tidy. I only manage to get my sewing room tidy about every 3 or 4 months. Having a place to put things is a huge help.

There's a shelf above that has a couple of empty baskets (there'll be something to fill them with!) and my miscellaneous patterns like kids, craft patterns, etc.
Then there are bias tapes (I like store bought!), zippers, snaps/hook & eyes and buttons, more buttons, elastics and trims.
Then patterns: Dresses and Tops each in their own. One with pants, shorts and skirts. one with wardrobe/coordinates, blazers & jackets and coats.
Then my fabrics bins. Bottom bin is WIPs, UFOs and those two boxes are non fashion fabrics and scraps!

I'm an organization fiend, so I love it. As far as the weight of those fabric bins, you could fabricate something that would be a support for the center of the shelf. Some sort of pole or something between the bottom and the lowest shelf perhaps? It would take some of the stress off of the center of that board.

I love how all the bins fit so perfectly in the cabinet. Nice work! I hope you've had a chance to look at photos in the Photos of Your Sewing Space thread. I've found Pinterest is a great place to get inspiration too.

I was thinking about the weight for me pulling them in and out but guess I should consider the weight on the shelf too! :D

Thanks!! Apparently I'm like the only person in the free world who just can't get into Pinterest. Even my husband is on Pinterest! LOL!
I'll poke around that thread -- thanks!
