My hubby and I have spent dozens of HOURS refinishing a featherweight folding table, and I want to make sure that it is protected when I use it as a "normal" table. So, I figure having a custom sized table pad (it's 30 something inches square) is probably not a bad idea.

I know for sure that I want a rigid one for the extra support over the cutout area.

As an extra bonus, I like the idea of it having a heat shield so that I could use my table top ironing board on it too if I didn't want/need the full size board (yes, it is raised off of the table surface but I'm still paranoid about it damaging the table)!

Looking online, Sentry seems to have some pretty good feedback and their price seems reasonable, and they have been in business for a really long time.

Guardian is a company that I know I've heard of from somebody that I know personally but I can't remember who. LOL.

I don't feel any sort loyalty to either of the previously mentioned brands, I just know for sure that I want something rigid. So, anybody have any experience with table pads? :)

it doesn't matter what type of sewing you do. you are sewing, and sewing is good.

I've had this one for 5-6 years and it's performed flawlessly:
