I have learned so much from you ladies that I thought it was time to repay that debt - for those of you who wondered, like me, if there was an easier and certain way to make perfect shirt collar points.

This tutorial (web page) is brilliant. Clear explanation, many photos of the process, excellent results. I just sewed a shirt collar using this method, in about 7 minutes flat, with no anxiety, no stressful poking out the point with a sharpy/blunty instrument, and no layering or grading or trimming very precisely the seam allowances before turning the collar right way out.

Highly Recommended. I wish I had had this technique years ago. I hope it helps other shirt-makers too.

Yes, this is a help, thanks!

DH gets compliments and close scrutiny from even strangers for shirts I've made but the 'perfect' points start raveling soon.

I knew there was something else, thanks again.

When I click on your link, all I can see is a header graphic that says: Off the Cuff. When you click on the header, it goes directly to the image in flickr. Do you have a different link?

It seems this website can only be viewed in Firefox. IE would not show the content.

Hi everyone, so you glad you are enjoying my collar-point tutorial!

Myself and the tailors I employ in my shirtmaking studio use this technique daily.

Here is the "permalink" for that tutorial (that opened fine for me in Explorer, Chrome and Firefox)

Perfect Collar Points, Pam Erny's Technique Note--it is a graphic-heavy entry...it might be slow to load...sorry.

Because my first blog was built on an older platform, I have started a NEW shirt-making blog,
Off The Cuff...From a Shirt-Maker's Studio with a new tutorial about an easy way to make chrevron striped yokes and pockets.

Happy Shirt-Making, Pam

WOW!

I post a link to a brilliant tutorial, and the author herself turns up here! I had no idea!

Since you are here, Pam, I have to say that you have inspired me SO MUCH! I'm getting into shirt-making again, after a gap of ten years, and my last shirt* had bias-cut side panels inspired by you (to show off the stripes); and my current shirt has bias-cut collar band and sleeve plackets (to show off the gingham check).

The precision plackets I got from here: http://malepatternboldness.blogspot.co.uk/2011/02/mens-shirt-sew-along-4-placket-racket.html

Since he's also in New York, maybe you know each other?
