So I'm going to make a trench coat. The popular McCalls pattern. I have found a great fabric for the outside. It's an outerwear fabric, sorta like neoprene but not quite as fake, a little more fabric like.
I need some suggestions for a lining fabric. I don't want to use standard acrylic lining fabric. It's too cheap and static clingy. I want something comfortable, nice and not heavy.
Suggestions?

You could use a silk charmeuse which would be a wonderful feel. If you want something really light, you could go with a Bemberg lining which is rayon.

I love a Bemberg Ambiance for something like that. I see Sawyer Brook has some heavier linings that would be great for coats. I'm planning on trying some myself.

Ambiance is always a good choice. If your fabric is a technical fabric with wicking or quick dry properties, I would use nylon taffeta.

But that nylon fabric does not breath and would defeat the purpose of the breathable outer fabric.

If it can be done with a needle and thread, I can do it!

Thanks for the help! Silk charmeuse is too pricey. I found the Ambiance and will keep that handy but found a Pongee from Fabricmart for super cheap. So I ordered that and if I don't like it I will get the Ambiance. I figured the pongee is sooooo cheap that if I don't like it, it's no big deal.

Nylon taffeta does breath, it's commonly used with technical fabrics. I have several wpb jackets with it. Maybe you're thinking coated nylon.
