I'm having doubts about whether my top is a good fit and I want advice before I make it again. Please be honest because my hubster has no idea about whether something looks good! Well maybe with some things but I trust other sewers more.
I just made up the cowl neck top (link below) and it feels lovely on. Not tight at all and very cool because it's such sheer poly cotton jersey. The photo in the Burda mag shows it fitting quite snug but I'm not used to wearing this style. I plan to make it again in a fabric I really love (the grey was a relatively cheap test fabric).
What do you think?

Your Top
I would say it is a little tight but that is the pattern style. I think the back shoulders look great. This is a cute top.
My suggestion is to make the side seam allowances larger, maybe 1", and baste the sides together to get the fit you want. The added tricky part is that every fabric behaves a little differently. This gives some fit insurance on fabric you love. You can take it in, it is harder to let it out.

It looks just like the dress on the model, so it's right. I think it looks great on you.

I like the gathers on this top. I t would be too tight for my comfort but is exactly how my daughter likes hers so it is a matter of personal preference. You say it is not tight at all so I think it is good for you.

I agree. It would be too tight for me but I think it works on you. I see young people with tops this tight all the time. And many who have rolls of 'fluff' around the middle. I'm not seeing any fluff on your picture. So it is fine.
That said, it's really a question of your comfort with the fit. The fact that you are asking the question tells me that maybe you would be more comfortable with a little more ease.

I already commented how much I love the top and yep...still love it!
It is really pretty and oh my gosh, I love the dress!
I think you should try it with a bit more ease and see if you like that *more*. I don't like a lot of ease in my clothing so I get wanting it snug...but if you're thinking it's too tight; like Sis said, it probably is *for you*.

I think it looks good on you. It may be tight but the gathered fabric is very flattering and it doesn't look "painted on". Good job.
P.S.: that dress is gorgeous and I might just make it for myself

You can, of course, do what you want, but as someone once said, If you can see outlines of your body or underwear, then it is too tight.
