1. Can you use the snap on presser foot adapter with the SU 62 for the newer feet that are labeled with letters?
2. Did Elna make its own "swiss made" ruffler or binder, or did they sell/supply just Greist ones?
3.Some Elna feet have the engraving "Swiss Made" in all caps and in other feet it is written normally. I'm assuming the all caps versions are newer feet that accompany the SU and the Carina.

Not sure about all the snap on feet but I have an adaptor to use with snap on invisible zipper foot on my SU bought 1974

You have to check each foot individually.. there really is no one-size-fits-all answer.
When you put it on, check to see where the needle drops and make sure it has enough clearance on the bar side of the needle opening. Also make sure the foot is riding properly on the feed dogs.
Janome snap on feet do *not* have a centered bar (the part the ankle snaps on to.
My old Elna 62 (and I would assume the Carina as well) are centered feet - and they are 5mm wide (I believe that is true for the Carina as well as mine. Seems most of the newer feet are wider to accommodate a 7mm stitch width.
