I'm getting a win 8 computer I have a win XP computer now and Embird that has been upgraded to the 2010 version. What do I do? Do I move the program then upgrade or upgrade now them move it and How do I move it? Help me. Please.
I'm not a computer idiot but Embird messes with my head because of the password. I'm afraid if I screw it up Embird (the company) will come back and say " Sorry, sucks to be you'll You need to purchase the program again.

If you have your passwords and serial numbers you should just be able to uninstall from one computer, and then download a new copy and install on the new one. I don't recall doing anything special when I transferred computers, and had no problems.

You should just be able to install with your current passwords but since your new machines is Win 8 I think you need to upgrade to 2013.

So does Embird just allow one computer installation per license?

I'm not sure, I've moved mine, and the program still functions on the first computer, but I haven't tried to update it, as I really don't use it there anymore.

Cheri, Thank you. I do have to upgrade it to 2013 which is another question. I believe my xp is 32 bit but win 8 is definitely 64 bit. I paid for the upgrade last night and my new main password is in my email. So ~ if I follow what everyone is saying ~ I should be able to go to the Embird download page and down load the Demo version I need (64 bit) onto the new computer then insert the main password from the email to take it out of Demo mode and it will work just as before?

That's exactly what I did a few months ago, without any problems. You'll have to add the keys for the add-ons again too, so it's good to have them all together.

You are going to have to upgrade to current version for win8, there is a vast difference between XP and win8. You probably have Embird version 2006. It's a $30 upgrade. But once you download and pay the new version your old passwords I believe will work.

Thank you everyone! My new computer will be here tomorrow. This one is 10 years old and has been a good computer but its time has come. Most video's freeze, I can't update many programs - it is just time. Here is a little bit of weird trivia for you: My computer is from 2004. When I turn it off it reverts to a 2004 calendar. Because of this glitch, FaceBook and many other newer websites will only load in text or will not load. As soon as I change the date everything works and looks fine.

My computer did the same thing when I recently got it repair. Took me a few minutes to wonder why I was getting all these security messages when I tried to go online, then realized the system date is wrong. I guess these days if you unplug the computer it resorts back to it's register date. the old computer we used while it was being repaired did the same thing. Computers have a rechargable battery in them that keeps the date and time but once you unplug them that charge runs down.
