Hello! Wondering if anyone has some advice for me. I went through my pattern collection and found that I have 2 Vogue patterns, a McCall's and a Burda that are brand new and I know I will never use. What can someone do with these brand new patterns? I don't really care about getting money back for them - I just don't want to throw them out because I know someone could probably use them. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Is there a freecycle group in your area? I recently posted a number of unused patterns and got several responses. A couple of the people who were interested wanted them for use in making costumes for youth groups. Others wanted them for themselves. I was able to clear them out quickly and know that they were being put to good use.
Try freecycle.org to see if you can locate a group. It's quick and easy.

Freecycle is a great idea. The classified area here is another option, or give them away on your blog if you have one.

One of the larger used bookstores near me takes patterns and then the local 'antique' malls have sellers that specialize in patterns from vintage to modern. If you have an ASG group near you then I'm sure they'd take them, too.

I'd at least post a picture of them in case someone here wants one or more.

If you have other sewists nearby I would do a pattern swap. Everyone brings their unwanted patterns to trade or give away.

I belong to a yahoo group called "SewItsForSale". All they sell is sewing related items and I have sold patterns on it. So you can list items or buy items.

My local Clothing and Textiles Advisors have an annual fabric and pattern sale to raise operating funds. I donate my unwanted patterns to them.

PS Sewitsforsale is a daaaaangerous place!
