Last week, I talked about purchasing a Evolve serger for the coverstictch option and having possible buyers remorse . I spent a few hours wondering if I had made a mistake about this. Plunking down $1000 is a lot of money for a used machine on my budget.

I never knew how much I was going to love this machine. I have sewn this weekend finishing up the coverstitching. I have had no real problems. The machine is easy to thread, to move the needles. (I changed from 2 needle narrow to 2 needle wide stitch). The machine is easy to remove the project...just raise the presser foot to release the tension, pull the needle threads forward from under the foot and snip. I am such a happy camper. If you are wondering if combo machine is worth it, consider doing it. It is even better to get a used machine and leave it set up as coverstitch only as I have. I have the BL Imagine set up as 4 thread.
I still have a lot to learn on finessing the stitching. But the learning curve is much less than I had with the Brother and I know that the web has plenty of help. A big shou tout to Debbie Cook's blogsite: Stitches and Seams, Her coverstictch tutorials are wonderful! I hope you all experience this much joy with your machine.

3 tops completed weekend and more to sew this year!!
I want to get the price per project down to at least $3 per garment this year. This is not a realistic goal but I am not afraid to to try!

Price per garment.......

I can obtain fabric and supplies and stitch up a garment faster and easier than I can successfully shop for properly fitted rtw that I like and will wear. I have begun to factor that into the equation too.

I am really liking my Evolve serger. I paid the same price. I get so tickled when I tread my machine, it is so easy. This was a great purchase. Serger and coverstich combined. Yea. Enjoy.
