Hello. My name is Jo and I signed up on this forum to learn about sewing.
I took a class at Joann's Fabrics 2 weeks ago.
I also bought a book about sewing, which I have been reading, and I have purchased a sewing machine which I haven't used yet.

I live in Madeira Beach, FL. and am 50 years old.

What are you planning to sew Jo? quilts? Clothes for yourself/for the kids? Which machine did you end up getting? Welcome! :)

Hi Jo,

Nice to meet you. I am a self-taught sewist, I started a few years ago when my mum found a second-hand New Home sewing machine on Freecycle and gave it to me, now I am completely hooked - own 3 machines, around 100 patterns and a large fabric stash! You will find lots of great info on here, and even better, lots of support. If you have any technical questions, just post them here on the forums and lots of people will be happy to help - I have found PR a great resource in learning to sew.

Good luck and have fun!

Welcome Jo,
Its nice to see people wanting to sew. I myself is a long time sewer. I've been sewing for 50 plus years. Sewing for me is a stress reliever. It just make what's ailing me go away.
I'm into embroidery now making lots of fleece jackets.
Jo you will find lots of friendly people here. We are just full of help!!!!
WELCOME!!!!!
