How to chance needle position (Moderated by Sharon1952, EleanorSews)

Hi there, does anyone know how to change the needle position on a frister and rossman model 45 (not mark 3, perhaps mark 1)? I bought a rolled hem foot for my other machine but it doesn't fit, it does fit their frister and rossman shank BUT the needle sits too far to the left. In the right hand position of a zig zag stitch, it is in the correct place for the rolled hem foot, but I can't figure out how to change the position. The mark 3 machine seems to have a needle position feature - can't seem to find it on mine, though!
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks,
Charlotte

Stitch width selector shows 0-4 zz only. Don't think that machine will sew a ss in any setting but 0.

If it look like this one:

I think you are out of luck too. You only have a stitch length lever with reverse on it, and a width lever for how wide a zig zag if you want to zig zag but nothing else, so you don't get to change any needle positions anyplace, just since you don't even have any controls for that. If the rolled hem foot has a wide enough and zig zag slot in it though, you could maybe still do a rolled hem with zig zag instead? Just only one side of the zig or zag will catch the rolled part, but I think that might be O.K., you could try it as long as the needle won't slam into the foot or the stitch plate.

Thanks so much for your very speedy responses! My machine does look like the one pictured, I was given it recently, I usually use a toyota 2400. I am going to return the rolled hem foot, apparently I ordered the industrial one instead of the domestic one, so hopefully I will receive the right one soon.
Many to thanks for your advice,
