I was beginning to despair ever seeing it this season. Today is the first snow of the winter in the mid-Atlantic (that actually is sticking.) Of course about half the city is shut down for an inch or two of fluff but I don't mind. Its so pretty c:

Please come and visit me! We had 15" of the stuff the first part of November, and I have had to have the driveway and turn about plowed at least weekly ever since. Not snowing today as it is supposed to reach a high of zero degrees F. Better than yesterday when the high for the day was -5F or tomorrow when the high is predicted to be -7F. About -20 at night and with the wind chill usually hits -30 to -35. I'm dreaming of spring and cutting out more fleece.

The problem in the DC area is it's very slick and likely to ice up. I'm at work but a lot of people aren't here.

Second storm for me because I got caught in a Maryland to Pennsylvania storm the night before Thanksgiving.

I talked to my mom in Virginia this morning and she said they had snow.

No snow this south, but we will be having some cold days this week. We even went up to Western New York over the holidays, hoping to have some snow for the kids to play in, and it was in the 50's when we were there...after we left they got snow.

I want some snow! We have about 1" and I need about 6" for snowshoeing. Later I'll be heading out to SWEEP (isn't that sad?) our tiny snow, and then I'll take the dog to the woods and golf course without my snowshoes...oh I miss them! But at least our broom snow keeps the dang golfers off the golf course. Last week they were golfing on frozen turf - the nerve!

I hate driving in snow and I hate the cold weather too. You can take all the snow you want from me - free!

I'm jealous! We got <1" of accumulated snow over Thanksgiving weekend, and then about 5 minutes of flurries last week, but that's been it for snow in the Seattle area. What's crazy is that they got several inches of accumulated snow in parts of San Diego (where I used to live) last week. I was so jealous--especially seeing everyone's snow pics posted on Facebook.

We had snow in the Arizona deserts on New Year's Eve. So pretty.

Detroy, last year I asked DH for snowshoes for Christmas. I figured I'd be set no matter what: Either I'd get to go snowshoeing, or we'd get NO snow, because I now had snowshoes (like carrying an umbrella as a sure charm against rain). It worked! We had exactly two snowfalls deep enough to use them. The trouble was the week where it was so deep that the top surface would melt with all the sunshine during the day, and then re-freeze to an ice rink overnight. DH dug trenches in our back yard for the dogs... who refused to use them.

Right now we have just enough snow--it's covering the grass enough to look pretty, but not so deep you actually have to shovel or worry about short dogs outside.

Don't envy us! All it does is snow, melt, ice over. I used to think they were wimps around here but I didn't initially realize the ice factor.
