I broke the thread guide on my emdeko sewing machine and I don't know how to find another part. Any suggestions?

Yahoo groups for Vintage or Japanese machines.
Take it to the jewelry store and see if they can fix it.

Post a photo. We will be able to give better advice if you are specific about which thread guide and just how "broken" it is. You may be able to use a part from a more common machine.

Don't confuse accessibility with ease; just because anybody can pick up a needle and thread doesn't mean sewing quality garments is easy.

I inherited my mom's vintage Emdeko JA-21 sewing machine, the upper thread guide (pig tail shape) tip broke off. I've searched Ebay, Amazon, JoAnn Fabric. etc. I can't locate a replacement. Any suggestions of a work-around or where I may located a replacement part? I'm unsure how to incorporate a picture into my post. I appreciated your help - Thank you! Patty

I'd drop a note to Ron Anderson at A1 Sewing. I've "known" him for years on usenet sewing groups and he's usually been able to find parts for vintage machines. [email protected]

Be sure to give him a URL for that photo so he can see what you're looking for.

4/22/2016, Ron replied, "Sorry not available". However, I found a similar replacement on Bonanza. Thank you for your assistance. Patty
