What do you all do with those muslin mock-ups once you are done with it?? Most of the time I use fabric that is not suitable for quilting, so that's out of the question. Do you just throw it away.....it seems like such a waste of fabric And I have so many just stashed in a corner. I keep thinking that there must be a place to donate scraps of fabric.

If it's something I might tweak later, I keep it on a rolling garment rack in a storage room with all the details written on it in sharpie. If it's something I'm done with, I cut it up and use the scraps for something else. I have several bins of scraps that I dig through when I'm trying out something new or looking to make small home dec items. I also will use muslin fabric for pocket linings and if it's not really muslin fabric, just something I don't like very much, then I've even made bias tape out of it.

I use them for other muslins! Sometimes I don't even bother to take them apart (just make sure the new piece doesn't cross any seam).

You don't really have a "fold" or selvage edge, but following grainline works well enough.

Best use I've heard is that Kenneth King gives his to a painter friend to use as rags.

As the only person who sews that a lot of people know, I get unsolicited "donations". If it doesn't smell weird, I keep it and I dont mind if I get rid of it after I make the muslin.

H&M collects clothing to reclaim textiles. I havent put them in the donate bag yet, but they may find their way into tomorrow's garments: http://about.hm.com/en/About/sustainability/commitments/reduce-waste/garment-collecting.html

My esthetician used strips cut from muslin fabric for leg waxing. I am no longer go to her because I learned how to do waxing on myself by myself (and saving tons of money)! So I tear my muslins into strips for waxing!

I have a large plastic fabric bin for all my off pieces, scraps and muslins, then every few months I would make my dogs a new bed (if they destroy theirs-which they do often) or I make the beds for my volunteer dogs and cats foster group. I use the scraps as stuffing for the beds.

Sometimes, I'm able to use parts of the muslin for new mock-ups. Those pieces that are too small I've been saving to use as stuffing for window draft stoppers I'm planning to make. And like Judy, I also toyed with the idea of making a pouf.

I'm glad you started this thread! I surely can use more ideas

Lots of times I'll just muslin a bodice and I toss them when I'm finished. If I make a skirt, because it's bigger pieces, I will reuse those for a future project/muslin.
