Anyone familiar with this supplier? I've searched PR and haven't found anything. They have some nice ponte prints.

I have ordered from their website several times, and I've shopped in their brick and mortar store in Santa Cruz half a dozen times. Nice fabrics, good service, quick shipping. I have not purchased ponte so I can't speak for that.
I live only 30 miles from the store, but it is over a mountain road that I'm not always in the mood for. Since traffic can be a beast, I have ordered online even though they are near me.

I have ordered from them three times. Once I was shorted on yardage. I called and they cheerfully sent me a new piece of the correct length and told me to keep the wrong one. It was one of the Telio pontes, the 320 ponte in gray, which is a very, very nice, thick ponte, excellent quality. Of the pontes/interlocks, I've also ordered the Saint-James stripe ponte, the Anna Maria Horner interlock in thistle, and what they call simply "ponte solid" in magenta and gold. The Saint-James is excellent quality, very heavy and drapey. The interlock was nice but faded quickly, even for cotton. The magenta and gold ones are not that great (although to be fair they were cheaper). Synthetic-feeling, like any dry skin on your hands will snag on them. And I'm being careful but I know they're going to pill.
Packages come quickly, and the fabric is nicely folded and wrapped in tissue. I like the relatively smaller, curated selection there. I get totally overwhelmed looking at sites like fabric.com and end up never ordering anything. Then later I pay a dollar more per yard for the same thing at Hart's. Dumb of me, maybe, but I really suffer from decision fatigue so I appreciate their help in getting past it.

Thanks for your response. I like your comment about decision fatigue, I suffer from that as well - very frustrating.

I've shopped in their brick-and-mortar store in Santa Cruz and was impressed by their selection. I bought some black and white striped ponte, a gorgeous medium-weight fabric with a soft hand and a perfect drape for the Jalie top I made with it.
Not having shopped online, I can't comment on their online service. But their staff is knowledgeable and their inventory impressive, so I would recommend them.

I have also shopped their brick-and-mortar store, many times, and have had the same experience as Aixoise, good selection and quality, very knowledgeable staff, great service.
They carry some lovely Japanese import cotton and cotton lawn fabrics that you will never see at JoAnns! I find the Japanese prints fascinating - the graphics and iconography is quirky by my American standards. My latest acquisition from a Hart's shopping trip was this lovely octopus print, which will become a pair of boxer shorts.

There used to be a smallish brick and mortar "Harts" fabric store, in Cupertino, CA, and it was located on Stevens Creek Blvd there many, many years ago. At least maybe 25 years ago back though, then I thought they closed and went out of business. But maybe not, maybe when they closed, they actually just moved over the hills to Santa Cruz just instead. You could ask them if they are the same maybe? My Mom shopped there as she always liked it! She did drag me along with her fabric shopping there as a kid even. They were good, and also had some nice flat fold tables of sale stuff, so she really liked that one a lot! And bemoaned the closing of it often even. I don't know if it is the same family now or not on the one you are talking about though?

Harts is a fave in my small circle of sewing friends in the San Francisco Bay Area. They are top notch sewists, so I share their recommendation too. I've only been once after a day-long sewing class. I think I was just regular old-fashion fatigued. I only bought 1 thing, a wonderful drapey remnant of a striped bamboo and rayon knit. Gorgeous color and wonderful quality. Lots to look at and I'll go back. It's interesting to read about experiences with ordering online. So thanks to all who are posting about that.

I just checked their *about us* info and it's dated 2008. The employees look fairly young and there wasn't a mention of any family members still being involved. They do have some good reviews though. If I can get my mojo in gear, I'll give them a try. Thanks to all for your feedback.
