a recurring problem (Moderated by Deepika)
Posted on: 5/18/16 1:50 PM ET
I used to be able to figure out how to post photos from my Flickr account and could often fix other people's photo link problems. I can still make it work, but it is very complicated.
Flickr has changed and the "Image" button here doesn't seem to recognize the changes that Flickr has adopted. At least it doesn't work for me. I don't think that I am the only one. The tutorial that Deepika posted doesn't work with these changes.
Can we please have some new instruction on how we should post photos from Flickr?
Thank you.

A lot of the free image hosting websites have had this change actually. And I don't blame them because what happens is that every time you post an image which is hosted somewhere else, and that image loads here, it counts towards their bandwidth and they have to incur a charge.
If anyone knows of a free website which still allows image embedding, let me know and I'd be happy to post a tutorial.
In the meanwhile, we do allow all Friends of PR members to upload images to the forums.

I used the Embed option from Flickr to post a photo here but I didn't think you wanted us to do that.
Is that ok? Because that is pretty easy, but it doesn't require the use of the Image button here.

By embed I meant posting an image, not a link to it. Embed html from other websites will not work here. And I think Flickr will not give you access to the direct image location to be able to use the image button here.

I can see it, and clicking on it takes me to the Flickr account.

Thank you. :)
That's the easy way to post photos here from Flickr, I guess. But not what Flickr wants.
This is what happens if I choose the BB code from Flickr and the Image button here on PR, then do some surgery on the code to pare it down to the minimum. Is this one visible?

I just want to know how you want it done.

frame, it's an extra step and annoying to have to do, but I've been "pinning" images from Flickr to Pinterest, copying the image address from there, and using the PR image button.
