Hello PR!

Due to my current living arrangement, I need to get a portable compact sewing table (otherwise I can’t sew at all).

My research shows that SewEzi seems to be best reviewed. But $250 + tax + S&H is a lot to invest in one. Is SewEzi worth it? Are there other similar tables that are not made in China? I’d be willing to pay more for made in USA one for example.

Are sewing tables considered notions :P

Thanks!

Horn of America has a portable table for about $150 retail. The #34. Not sure where it's made or the weight. What I like about it is the machine isn't sitting on a dropped platform (that might fail), the left side lifts up and adjusts to the level of the machine bed.

I have two and I like them. :)

This may not be sturdy enough for your needs, but I have one and have used it for sewing many times. https://www.amazon.com/Lifetime-28241-Folding-Personal-Table/

It's better than a card table for sure! Not as bouncy, and height adjustable, too.

Sometimes you need something that will fold up easily so you can put it away, or put in your car to sew on location. I've taken it to nearly every relative's home for various sewing projects, and once took it to a Starbucks for a Craigslist connection, using it to try out the bargain sewing machine. It's a very handy little table.

I have a Gidget II that stores easily in a closet when not being used. It is 40" wide x 20" deep with a 24 x 12.5 machine insert size. I use it to sew on the enclosed patio in the spring/fall, sometimes the living room in the winter and it is a sturdy table. Around $200 without insert.

Hi, I have 2 sew ezy's and have had them for about 3 years. I really like them, they are sturdy and easy to pack away or transport. For me it was money well spent.

I suppose the question is how long is your current living arrangement for? If you move do you think that you would prefer another type of table?

I have a large sewing room and choose to use these two as permanent tables along with some Ikea furniture.

Once you get used to your machine sewing bed sitting flush with the table you may want to keep sewing that way. I have chosen to have my machines in the Sew Ezy's and the overlockers/cover stitch on the Ikea tables as they don't work in a flat bed table.

All the best
Sue

I have a SewEzi table and I think it is worth the investment even though I only use it for travel and loaning out to DD when she wants to sew. I have a dedicated sewing room, but if I didn't this would be my go-to table.

Maia B – Thanks for the Horn of America #34 suggestion. I looked it up and it’s discontinued! I plan to call around and see if any of them have one I can take a look at.

rag doll – It is temporary but I won’t have a permanent sewing space for the foreseeable future. I think getting a portable sewing table would be useful. Plus, I read that a lot of people (like you) use Sew Ezi as the main sewing table.

The more I read about Sew Ezi, the more it seems like a good option. I found very few negative reviews so far!

Hmmm, maybe it's been replaced with a different number. I bought two at once and they unexpectedly came with wheels on one end for rolling.

I have a Roberts 295 utility table and I use it whenever I need more space. They are now called Fashion Tables of America and make one by the name of 295. It's very sturdy - before I got my cabinet for my Bernina 790 it sat on it with no shake at all.
