I'm practicing the pivot and slide technique (please don't tell me to use another technique because this is the ONLY one I can begin to understand ) I picked my pattern size based on my armpit crease measurement, then did a bust adjustment of 3/4 inch and increased the waist. Then did my mock-up.
I guess my basic question is: are horizontal stretch lines radiating out from armpit across bust a sign I need to add some more to the bust area? Or something else. I am really just learning this stuff, so I won't understand anything too technical. Thanks!

Oh yes, forgot to add, the horizontal lines do not appear until AFTER I've raised my arms up in the air. The fabric gets the lines and sort of bunches up in the upper chest area.

How many inches diff is there between your high bust and full bust measurement?
1 inch= A cup, 2 inch= B cup, 3 inch = C cup ...and so on.
Why did you decide on a 3/4 inch bust adjustment?
Yes, horizontal lines usually mean not enough ease.

I'll try. Not sure how. According to a Sew/Fit book I have, I may have cut out the wrong size to begin with, I had dh measure my crease-crease and he came out with a 1/2 inch different than I did. I'm going to cut the larger size and mock it up. If it still doesn't work, I'll try to post a picture.
Thank you so much for answering!

You don't necessarily need more fabric to go around the bust, you might just need to have a larger dart.

Thank you for all the responses. I have no clue what I am doing wrong. I'm still having the same problem. In fact, every.single.top I sew that is not a cowl or draped neck presents with the same exact problem.
I have now done five muslins and every single one has the same issue. It looks pretty much fine when standing with arms down. After I raise then lower my arms, the fabric moves to above the bustline and just stays there. It also does look like fabric is pulling from under the arm. So, I guess the problem isn't with the pattern, it is with me. I'm not grasping what adjustment needs to be done.
I have 3 lovely pictures,
, of the problem that I would love to post but I don't know how to post pictures. If someone would be kind enough to tell me how to post, I will.

I just joined pattern review (yay!!) If you want you can look at my profile for the pictures. I am getting the kids ready for school and then will try to figure out how to post.
I had been meaning to join for a while now, but this fitting problem is so vexing, it prompted me to join today!

I figured out how to post. Please have yourself a laugh on me because you can clearly see I forgot to remove a cotton ball from my bra. I was stuffing to see if that would help remedy the problem. Oh, and I feel silly mentioning this, but the stomach bloat is dairy induced. So fabric binding up down there isn't usually a problem unless I indulge in something I shouldn't as I did last evening.
As I mentioned, this is a problem in all tops that are not a drapey style..
