Hi
I recently bought a Platinum 775. I need to get a Sew Steady table for it, but can't do so for several months.
I am wondering if anyone here has one and has the table. I wanted someone to turn the table upside down and trace the opening for the machine on a sheet of paper. I want my DH to make a temporary table for me.
I will reimburse postage and send a little something else.
Thanks

Just in case you don't get anyone to provide the template you are requesting, I thought that I would mention how I went about doing something similar. I had DH make an extension table for a Janome 8080 that my mother owns. I simply measured the free-arm on the machine and used those dimensions to draw a template for DH.

Since you have the machine, you also have all of the dimensional onformation required for the extension table.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I'm a little concerned about the curving edges. Since he will be making it out of thin wood, I don't want him to have to slide it off and on several times with a rough wood edge against the plastic. He is handy, but always thinks he can improve on a design. If I don't have the exact thing and can tell him - just like this and no different, there's no telling what I'll get. :D
I guess that's one advantage to the vintage machines, the most of them were fairly square or had straight lines.
Thanks again. I hope doing that would be the very last resort.

The Janome 8080 that I drew up the template for isn't a vintage machine. I meausre the free-arm, including the radiused corners/curves, drew up a template and had DH take it to his freind's woodshop to cut a piece of MDF. With a little sanding, primer and paint, it gives a nice smooth finish.

Keep an eye on ebay for a table for your machine as well. I bought a sew steady table for my Kemore 19606 for about $20 last year.

Sharon, I have the Platinum 770 (which I believe has exactly the same footprint as the 775) and I also have a Sew Steady 18" by 24" extension table. I'd be happy to trace it for you and will send you a Private Message.
