Whenever I go to a coffee shop, people order things that aren't on the menu because they have it custom made so much to the point where it shouldn't be called coffee anymore. I order mines basic black with cream no sugar. Nice and simple. How do you order your coffee?

I don't order coffee. That is something I never got addicted to. I don't even like coffee-flavored candies. I gave up caffiene 2 1/2 years ago. (except for the tiny bit that is found in the occasional candy bar, and sometimes that is enough to keep me awake for hours)

And I never acquired a taste for coffee!!! Herbal tea or hot chocolate are my hot drinks.

Coffee, grande (medium), no cream, no sugar, no more questions.

ETA But I did just get back from a Starbucks run with something for a coworker. I had to write down all the nouns and adjectives associated with her request, and I think I absorbed some calories through the cardboard cup.

Depends on my mood...

Normally I just drink my coffee black (I like my coffee strong). If I'm feeling like I want a treat, I will order a "double tall nonfat latte", sometimes with flavoring, sometimes not.

I am not by any means a coffee snob but I'm a flavored-coffee freak and have been since Gloria Jean's came to the mall many many years ago. Altho I seldom buy coffee out, I'm a sucker for Starbucks every once in awhile. I love the Cinnamon Dolce Latte and have yet to try anything else because as Karla said, all those adjectives and nouns are too much for me to figure out! I just picked something off the menu and that's what I've been stuck on for awhile. Also, I'm usually with DH and it's embarassing to hear him butcher any of the other names for the coffees. He does it to aggravate me, but geez. I know they are in there laughing.

I only drink regular black coffee at work, and only in the morning. I can't have too much caffeine, so we all compromised and drink the 50/50 blend.

Black, except espresso, which of course calls out for sugar. Black tea, too... my British friends think I'm loopy, but that's how we had it growing up (nothing added, and strong enough to put hair on your chest).
P.S. If I order coffee or tea that turns out to be substandard (i.e. most mainstream coffee-shop tea and coffee), I put double cream in it. Never sugar. Sugar in hot non-espresso drinks is for reviving people who're in shock, IMO.

I prefer just plain old, regular coffee most of the time. We have a Senseo pod coffee maker at home that makes a single cup at a time (my boyfriend doesn't drink coffee), and I keep a variety of roasts on hand to suit my mood. I'll usually add a teaspoon of sugar or splenda (if we have it), and a splash of low-fat milk.

If I'm at a coffee shop, I'll usually just get a tall cup of the house coffee (or Kona, if they have it), and add a touch of milk or half-and-half and sweetener.

If I want "dessert"...that's when I get into the cappucinos, mochas, etc.
