I have finally got a good fit in my crotch but my problem is that when I walk the pants ride up between my legs. I have to keep pulling the pants down in the middle. I have to make a major adjustments to the back and front pants to accommodate my crotch depth. It appears that my inner pant legs catch between my thighs when I walk and it makes the pants appear shorter on the inside seams down both legs. What can I do to eliminate the problem?

Hi there,

It sounds as if you have full innner thighs and need to make an adjustment. Debbie Cook has written a wonderful review on how she solved this problem. If you do a search on her name in the pattern review section on the first page of this website you will find her pants review. She did this alteration from a book written by Jan Minnott.

She has great explanation on her blog. I highly recommend you read her information.

Heather has a good point and if you do not feel that Debbie's tutorials work for you, then you need to post a picture if you can. There are a lot of us pluses that have taken pants fitting and we might be able to help you brainstorm this challenge out. Who knows, Debbie might even jump in on a day off and help out. Sherril I know will and she is very good!

Thanks Ladies. I printed Debbie's tutorial and I am studying her changes. I hope to have a muslin completed soon. I probably won't get to sew again until this weekend. Thanks,
Joyce
