Hi. I have my mom's old sewing machine. Does anyone know how old this is? I Google'd the name and couldn't find anything. Here are two pictures. I'll post a full picture of it when I get home. Thanks.

My first impression is that it is an old treadle machine that was electrified. That's what the label indicates. There were a lot of different manufactures back then. Probably could be 1880-1920, because many rural homes did not have electricity until later.

Many of our rural homes had no electricity until the late 50's!

If it can be done with a needle and thread, I can do it!

In reply to Pamela R
During the Depression, the government program Tennessee Valley Authority, put in hydroelectric dams and electrified a lot of rural areas in Tennessee and Kentucky.

I can't see much of it, but I think it's an old White Rotary machine of some sort, maybe about 1920-ish or so, just by the rounded and sticking out away from the rest of machine, shiny metal stitch length regulator on it, which is in the photo there. Also just since it says FR on the serial # of it. If so, remember that to actually sew with it, your fly wheel has to really turn backwards and away from you, not towards you instead, like some modern machine.
The Dart decal on the front of it then, would just be a sticker someone put on it, much later on (I don't know, my guess maybe the 1940's to 1950's probably) when they repainted it over the original paint. You can see the first paint/decals sticking out under the second paint job though now. So they probably painted over the name (whatever that was) that was on the top of it.

Maybe you can use this book to sew with it, and thread it up.

Only you know if the rest of the machine really looks like the machine in this book or not though.
